Academic Statement of

Dear Gentle-person:

Situation:

I am an alumnus from Indiana University College of Arts and Sciences. I was admitted to the Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Fine Arts South Bend, IN in the fall of 2005. While there, I attended a college preparatory program in pre–fine–arts for 20 months. Then I applied to Henry Radford Hope School of Fine Arts Bloomington to be accepted into the fine arts studio art program for 16 months. I successfully completed my degree after 20 months at John Herron School of art, for a total of 4 academic years and few months with inter-campus consortium agreement in Indiana University network Indianapolis, December of 2012.

Task:

I am curious to know more about how I can contribute to developing a contemporary curriculum as I am now pursuing continuing education with independent studies and a masters of arts & design in an interdisciplinary studies degree. As an undergraduate at IU, I majored in Fine Art Studio Art, Arts & Humanities; while minoring in Social & Historical Art/Design History, contemporary conservation and criticism colloquium in independent studies. With the acceptation of my cumulative grade point average, I have maintained an exceptional major GPA of 3.012 concentrating in focus and specializing in relevant related coursework.

Action:

As an alumus from Indiana University with independent studies in interdisciplinary arts: I have completed a number of topics classes such as: Architecture for the Planet Earth; Civilization and its Discontents; see, Computer Art: Survey & Practice; Design for Public Spaces; also, Intensive Writing; Intro to Computers and Computing; Research, Reporting, Writing and Editing as well as, Photojournalism at the Indiana Daily Student IDS and such as the like for a more contemporary independent major in a new media bachelors degree.
Throughout the duration of my senior year in my undergraduate course career I began to take an interest in architecture, graphical user interfacing and computer science. Though my interests are wide and varied, I aim to concentrate my focus on information technology and, software programming or, specializing in web development—an undergrad degree in community informatics/ social computing was unavailable at IU.. I expect to continue studying for a masters degree in Human Computer Interaction and, Design Engineering.

Result:

I matriculated a sum total of 150 credits, registering an excess of 30 extra credit hours in: Advanced Color Photography, Design History: 1880 to Present, Intro to Interactive Media Design, Site Specificity and Contemporary Art, Telecommunications Production Techniques and Practices. And have since completed my first bachelors in fine arts degree finishing my final course of study as an undergraduate to satisfy my curiosity and narrow down my most specific field of interest in knowledge mapping a community knowledge web.
I am intent on conducting independent study at a university concentrating my focus in a specific type of interest: information technology, computer science, web development; and, community informatics as it relates to graphical user interfacing in user experience and, interaction design—I aim to pursue professional development of my professional portfolio with a duel degree Grassroots Computing and Community Informatics specializing in Human Computer Interaction Design engineering platforms for Social Computing.

Sincerely,
