Memo to Self

Aggravated beyond all get out: annoyed this moment is happening; frustrated and then some—irritated it seems as if I have not the patience to wait….  haHaa, I am one of them, the former of the latter.  And, so are you.

At times, I have to slow my role in order to remember that, there is more to life than hurry.  There are more important people to me—not to worry…  Intention–setting, creative place–making, things I need are listed below.

Please advise.

See the items listed in the following journal entry I have not afforded myself the time to write this jumbled mass of words in my head with some semblance of order, together.  Still in the fuzzy front–end of business here in terms of family, friends and, extra curricular, activities, relationships I cannot allow myself to get here to distracted with Them, for fear of distraction from finding one of my many purposes, for some reason…

i.e.
Attempting, unsuccessfully, to focus my concentration or, rather at times the lack thereof.

e.g.
What are, some things I have been thinking:
•  I’ve been thinking, I’m so recluse, I need to get to the great outdoors more.
•  I feel like I need to get in the water, be more creative, experience the flow.
•  Water, water, everywhere, what could possibly be more important to me.?/

Coffee & Cigarettes c.2006bce

—-

He prefers to sit by himself.

It does not bother him as much as it used to.  He has
grown far too accustomed to it for it to feel awkward anymore.
A solitary social vagabond, guitar in hand, he attempts to turn out a
tune, to express his feelings without much success.
Although he knows the chords, he just cannot seem to make a smooth
transition from one to the next.  So instead he picks a few
strings individually, even when joined together they barely ring out
over the hubbub of the surrounding environment.  No one
notices.  He supposes that he is a bit off beat, and tries
again, playing minor cords to reflect his view of the melancholy mood
hanging over their heads like the smoke in the surrounding
atmosphere.  Observing others interactions with each other and
how they continue to feign interest in one another; perpetuated
ignorant bliss.
Such a site might seem to promise a
feeling of relaxation, when just under the surface lurks the social
frustration spent privately entertaining coffee and
cigarettes.

….

He watches as they pretend to relate to
each other through a number of different mediums, coffee, cigarettes,
cars, movies, etc.  Futile melodrama, nothing of any real
importance, he thinks to himself.  Not like participating in
things together, sharing experiences,  legitimate interests held
in common, creating relationships based on times spent with each and
every other.  Frustrated by his inablity to compose a
simple song he sets his guitar down.  At this he gives
pause and rests his eyes on the vacant seat taking its place next to
him on the couch.  He puts his guitar away as he is
getting up and is about to leave until he looks around the room to
give the people in it one last silent regard when he catches a
glimpse of a young lady sitting in the corner of the room hurriedly
getting something out of her purse on the chair next to her and it
falls and its contents out with it.

Painting Paragraphs With Words

In a book titled: “The ten Oxherding Pictures; A Guide to Enlightenment,” by a Professor of Jungian Psychology and Philosophy, he writes about Zen and the art of seeing: “Seeing is one of the things Fredrick Frank teaches in his ‘Zen of Seeing/Drawing’ workshops.”  He says we do a lot of looking, we look through glasses, we look through telescopes, we look through camera lenses but, there are very few of us have learned what it is to really see.

In the book, it says, a Zen Master once said:  “The meaning of life is to see;”  though we spend a lot of time looking, there is very little that we actually see — in reality, perspective is limited to experience….  At the same time, experience is only limited by our perspective, sensation and perception and yet, that’s the beauty of it.  When you look: what you see; and, how you see it.

Someone I know once described how they paint everything they see as they are seeing it.  Imagine; it is difficult to express that what you cannot see, in the same way it is hard to understand that which you do not know….

“The first half of life is spent learning, the second half of life is spent understanding.” ~C.G. Jung  Continue reading

So long; Sayonara….

Founded some 7 years ago, by then vice president Al Gore, on August 1st, 2005 — to date, Current Tv was the worlds largest leading peer–to–peer user news and information channel; it was the only 24/7 cable/satellite television/broadband news network programmed and, produced with collaborative efforts featuring viewer created content, vanguard journalism from all across the nation and world wide in–so–far….

“With the launch of Current.com, the first fully integrated web and tv platform, users [could] participate in shaping an ongoing stream of news and information that [was] compelling, authentic, and relevant to them.”  —http://www.current.com/

Current Tv is virtually responsible for developing the industries top model with the ground–breaking concept of viewer created content or, (VC2’s).  This content made for roughly one–third of all current’s on–air broadcasting schedule.  These submissions were transmitted via short form, non–fiction video “pods.”  Viewers Created Ad Messages, called (VCAM’s).  In contests, they created commercials for sponsors in support of the station.  Winners received 2k-60k depending where it aired. “Do not hire a man who does your work for money, but him who does it for love of it….”

—Henry David Thoreau

That said: I have my answer; over the years or, rather, more particularly the past last three — I’ve been, interning, searching, volunteering, working….  And now, as it turns out, by paying my due diligence, practicing self-discipline, perfecting my own patience, I’m not finding my line of work, indeed it has since found me in-so-doing.

Passion;  Purpose;  Community;  Service;  Man cannot stand a life without meaning:  Meaning, life, liberty and/or, the pursuit of happiness seem very much like trivial pursuits such as compared to fighting the good fight, then again doing the great work.  All else, if otherwise, is meaninglessness.  “Be well; understand and, do good — work.”
