R-Control Structurally Insulated Panels with Foam Control EPS Perform Guard

Structurally Insulated Panels are gaining in popularity, they are already being mass produced in Colorado, Oregon, Mississippi, Montana, Rhode Island, New York and are used in residential commercial construction in states like, California, Florida, Montana, New York, Washington and, Wisconsin. Although they might cut down on production time, most of the cost in hours and labor are spent in custom designing and manufacturing. However, aside from using the same tools, r-SIP’s are relatively easy to assemble with Do-All-Ply glue *(mastic), i-beams, splines, screws, SIP tape and may only require use of a crane *(or, mechanized equipment for roof’s during) under construction.

It may be they are not used as much in Utah since the cost of shipping and handling increases with distance over the road and/or it requires new knowledge on how to build modern construction versus conventional traditional building practices. *Although, SIP’s have a good market share in UT having produced multi-family 4 plex’s, duplex’s, single family, commercial, school retrofits and additions and even a roof for a maintenance facility at Alta, however, be that as it may, this might explain why a lot of other contractors are not doing it this way because it has not often been done here before. And so, it is just not being done, yet. According to design, it appears as though it can be done with contractors who are unfamiliar with the process as much as it is with inexperienced volunteers. Looking at the schematics, it seems possible to put together plans on paper as well as it is to make it come to fruition in real life.

As regions vary environmentally state to state, special design is taken under consideration for each structure. Building green LEED, r-SIP’s are certifiably a cut above the rest. Depending on pitch, r-SIP’s are able to stand up against impact from torrential wind speeds from hurricanes and tornados of at least 180mph. r-SIP’s with blazeguard on Ceiling/roofs in exterior/interior walls and I-beams are fire retardant withstanding temps of 1300-1450*F from 20 mins up to 1 hr under 3 stories of 21,600lbs. Furthermore, r-Control panels with gypsum can also withstand a sustained fire hose stream to extinguish flame from spreading very rapidly. R-Control has designed up to over 200mph wind for a CDOT building on CO Eastern Planes. BlazeGuard has changed hands and although it may be available it isn’t a 1 hour assembly as applied to the panels. R-Control has 15 min barrier with BlazeGuard.

Read case study after case study on r-Control SIP’s website and research the history. Compare content leading competitors thermocore, raycore, searchall, mbci and, enercept. The contrast between industry best practices in conventional modern building and, the standard traditional practices pales in comparison. Do-All-Ply, SIP tape, vapor retarders, thermal barriers, gypsum insulates SIP’s, prevents mold, mildew and, protects from termite damage. In the event of an earthquake, a traditional stick frame house does not stand a chance, one r-Control structure in Kobe, Japan was stood up against a magnitude 6.9, that’s the equivalent of a level 9 intensity. R-control has held up tried and true to startling resiliency.

In reality, fully customizable, building construction beginning with r-SIP’s just makes sense. r-Control is cutting the edge of tech, conserving energy efficiency and, reducing our carbon foot print in both heat retention and heat transfer. r-SIP’s are made of lightweight biodegradable environmentally friendly recyclable Expanded Polystyrene Foam Control Geofoam Structurally Insulated Panels. The material r-SIP’s are made from contains no Chloralfloracarbon’s, Hydrochloralfloracarbon’s, Hydrofluorocarbons or formaldehyde, mold and mildew resistant, it is recyclable. r-SIP’s are so durable, thermal performance are guaranteed to 20-years. One such structure built in NY has lasted more than 30.

After shipping and handling, before installation r-SIP’s must be elevated off the ground, covered, protected and stowed under tarp or similar protective wraps. Exposure 1 OSB facings come standard, save for roof systems that must have temporary roofing applied at the time of installation immediately when practical. Metal roof systems in design precautions must include use of airspace to prevent excess heat and vent high temperatures. Special design consideration for metal requires treatment to protect from warping with excessive temperatures.

The difference between this best building conventional modern construction practice and, current industry standard structures practices is night and day. r-Control SIP’s panels can be measured to fit and custom sized before shipping and handling, channels cored centered and bored out lengths and 18’ at widths so roughing out a panel is a cinch while all plumbing is exterior, cutting production time on site virtually in half or less. r-SIP’s are structurally sound, with enough high tensile strength to stand up to load bearing force. It saves hours in labor, compensating for the cost of time and energy reducing coverage and risk for insurance liability.

*Do-All-Ply does not adhere it is an epoxy that is only meant to tack and prevent moisture from entering walls.
